Vintage Swedish Still Life Oil Painting. c. 1940s.

Charming Swedish still-life painting from the 1940s, depicting a richly arranged bowl of fruit alongside a dark, highly polished metal or pewter pitcher. The composition is set against a warm, earthy background, with the colourful fruit and striped textile creating a pleasing contrast to the cooler tones of the vessel.

Painted in a confident, expressive style with visible brushwork and a slightly naïve, modernist character. Signed TE or ET lower right.

A wonderfully atmospheric example of Swedish mid-century still-life painting, retaining much of the warmth and personality of its period.

Good vintage condition, frame with wear.
