This is a 19th-century Russian Orthodox hand-painted icon on wood, depicting Saint Panteleimon, a revered Christian martyr and healer. Rendered in the traditional style of Eastern Orthodox iconography, the saint is shown standing in full-length profile, dressed in monastic robes with a halo encircling his head. He gestures in blessing toward a white-domed church, symbolizing faith and divine presence. In the upper left corner, a heavenly figure, likely Christ or God the Father, emerges from the clouds, extending a blessing, signifying the saint’s divine connection. The background is richly finished, framed by a deep red and ochre border. The inscription in Church Slavonic at the top reads “Святый Пантелеимонъ” (“Saint Panteleimon”). The icon bears an import sticker from Willamo Oy of Finland, a known importer of religious artifacts, suggesting it was brought to Finland as part of an antique collection.
